Newspaper Story

I read this story in the Harrison Paper. I wept. How sad that someone could do this to a child. I am so thankful for my wonderful husband. I know there has been times he's wanted to shake me silent but never little Clayton. He truely is the best husband a girl could ask for. I look forward to spending the rest of my life with him.

Here's the story:

Man held for 3-month-old son’s injuries

A 28-year-old Harrison man was arrested last week on suspicion of battery of a three-month-old baby.

Harrison Police Capt. Paul Woodruff said Jeremy McAnally, 28, faces a first-degree battery charge in connection with injuries to his three-month-old son.

According to Woodruff, McAnally was left to care for the boy while the boy’s mother was gone from home. When the mother returned, the baby showed injuries and was taken to North Arkansas Regional Medical Center.

Woodruff said the baby was then transferred to Children’s Hospital in Little Rock, where injuries included multiple abrasions and bruising around the head and shoulders, bleeding from the right eye and possible brain damage from a fractured skull.

He said McAnally told investigators he’d attempted crushing up Xanax to put in the baby’s formula to keep him from crying. When that didn’t work, Woodruff said McAnally told police he applied pressure to the baby’s chest in an attempt to make him angry enough to stop crying. He also told police he threw the baby in the crib, where he hit his head.

Woodruff said the baby was still undergoing treatment of injuries at last report.

Boone County Jail records show he was being held there this morning in lieu of $250,000 bond.

Limbs

Greg and I cleaned up the front yard some Saturday. The back yard has barely been touched. We were so tuckered out that we didn't even finish. The city is supposed to pick up limbs starting Monday. I think they will have an additional pick up date. Limbs are stacked up all over town so I don't expect them to get to our house anytime soon. Here's a few pictures.
