8-30-8

We went for a walk. I was tuckered out but Clayton was all smiles. He's rolling over and practicing picking up his head (did this all on his own.) Smart and strong boy.

Clayton's getting bigger by the minute. We finally hung up his new decorations for his room. Gigi you need some of these.

Pop thinks Clayton is trying to crawl. I think this is his hunter instinct... he is looking for food. Smart kid like is daddy.

Rollin'

The NP was amazed Clayton could roll from his back to belly. She said he must be strong. He does it I think when he's hungry.

2 month check up

Clayton weights 11 lbs and 12 ounces and is 23.5 inches long. His thrush is all gone. He's probably the cutest baby the doctors office has ever seen. Greg took this picture.

Walking

Clayton and I went for a walk. He stayed awake for about 5 minutes. Last night he slept for almost 6.5 hours. I didn't sleep near that long. I kept waking up because I couldn't understand why he was still asleep. I hope this is a new trend.

Videos

This is what Clayton is doing why he rolls over. I guess it's a fluke. He's done it at least 4 or 5 times now. He's chasing his pacifier.
Clayton is excited about getting to see you tomorrow Pop.

Thrush

Clayton has thrush -- he seems to be in no pain. We moved our doctors appointment up to Monday and I painted his mouth with Gentian Violet. He looks like he's been drinking grape koolaid.

I just layed Clayton down (on his back) I turned around for 2 seconds and now look at him.

Scheduling

I've been trying to get Clayton on a schedule. He's actually slept for 4 hours straight the last 2 nights. Today he woke himself up from his nap. He was awake from 1 o'clock til after 7 without me fighting with him. He's passed out now but I'm going to wake him up in a little bit. Hopefully he'll sleep some tonight.

Hall Table

Greg made this table for one of his aunts (for a fee of course.) He had to order the legs. He dreams of one day having a big shop and some more toys.

** notice the can of stain. someone and i won't say who drove over it along with a 150 feet of nicely stained base boards. not a good day for the pregnant lady.

Motorcycle

Last night Clayton was playing with his clothes. I think he decided they were more fun off. Here he's practicing his kick start.

Like father like son....

Greg thinks this looks like a dress. Gelicia and I put in on Clayton while he (Greg) was asleep. He wants to know what you think about it Pop.

Hernia

I didn't get to talk to the doctor. I was being examined at the time. Greg said he was 'on the spot.' Part of the umbilical cord didn't heal right and the dr cauderized it. Doc was more worried about that than anything. He said if it didn't heal in 2 weeks -- then we'd talk to a surgeon. I can tell it is going to heal over.

The hernia will most likely fix itself. Doc said we'd talk about that again at age one if it wasn't fixed. On the net the majority of articles say that if it doesn't heal by age 4 then they fix it surgically. It really isn't that big of a deal right now.

None of this concerns or bothers Clayton. Just me. Clayton is pain free from what I can tell -- and chilled out.

Our next doctors appointment is August 27.

8-11-8

We're still fighting to keep Clayton awake in the daytime. Yesterday we completely lost. Today is better. We went to the DR. He does have an umbilical hernia. Some new stats for you --- 10 lbs and 3 oz and 23 inches long. Growing like a weed.

6 weeks old today

Clayton is 6 weeks old today. I am pretty sure that he has an umbilical hernia. I go to the doctor on Monday and I'm going to take him with me. From what I've read there's nothing that they really do unless it doesn't heal on its own.

Clayton is playing and he says hi. Greg says you can stay with us all summer -- but you have to pay at least half the bills. He says he couldn't go without seeing him for a day.

It is hot as hell. Greg says I need to get out more. I opened the front door yesterday and decided that was a stupid idea! Clayton recieved his scholarship in the mail. I think I'll copy the certificate and frame it for his room. The original is going in a safety deposit box. He doesn't look enthused about it, does he ?
