O Happy Day

I love looking at pictures. If I didn't get frustrated with the amount of time it took me to scan my albums in I'd have all of my pictures digilitized. But I usually get mad in the middle of a project and start throwing things. And then Greg would feel the brunt of my frustrations. Posted by Picasa

Happy Birthday Uncle Mike!

Happy Birthday to Uncle Mike. I'm not sure how old he is. I hear he loves his grandkids almost as much as Aunt Helen. I know he was always kind to myself and my sister. Always fun.

I remember motorcyle rides especially -- more importantly a purple umbrella from Silver Dollar City. It's probably one of the nicest gifts I've ever recieved. I know there's no way in hell (pardon my french) that my mom would ever buy me such a pricey gift! I wouldn't have even asked. I think he saw me staring at them. Thank you -- I doubt I've ever said this. Helen could you pass this along.

the Lake

Today we went to the lake. We took Rocky with us. He is supposed to be a water dog. You can tell from the pictures who saved whom. I think he was getting used to it by the end of the trip. He didn't really want to swim. But he definately liked riding in the boat.

I worked last night so it has been a long day. But I earned time and a half and 30 % . Which amounts to a lot of money, but not much after they take out taxes I suppose. I will know on Friday.

Here is a funny picture of Greg. I don't think he knows how to wear a lifejacket!!!!

My weekend

What a weekend. I am glad it is over. Next weekend one of the nurses I work with will be on vacation so I'll be virtually by myself all weekend. It will be nice because she gets on my nerves. It doesn't take much for someone to get on my nerves.

This is some of the stuff I heard this weekend --

"Give me an enema! And then what will you do when I shit the bed? What will you do?"
I asked a patient her name -- "My name is Mark, but I go by Anna"
Dr Maris told a patient "Erin will get you taken care of." She pointed at me and said "She has ALREADY taken care of me" It was definately not a compliment.
"Let's be naked" Why do we need to get naked, I asked. "We won't need our clothes in heaven." Hmm..

I had a patient that got critical Saturday night. The only family she had left was her sister-in-law and her niece who happened to be her healthcare proxy. I called the niece and politely suggested maybe she could come sit with her aunt. She huffed and came in a few hours later.

I want my aunts to know that if you are ever in a hospital bed drowning in fluids -- or ever just on your last breath. I will not hesitate to come sit with you while you go on to the heareafter.
