Richland Creek
Greg and I had intended to go hiking to a few waterfalls on Wednesday. Now, I know it is definately not waterfall season. But I know Richland Creek -- if there is always a lot of water in the creek there should be a waterfall down the creek.
Richland was as dry as I ever remember seeing it. We hiking a few yards down the creek. We could actually walk down the creekbed. I saw a copperhead as big as myself and pert near pee'd my pants. It was at that point that I turned around.
We will go to the falls in the cold Spring when there is more water and less snakes. And Greg will carry a gun to protect me.

Melt-In-Your-Mouth Sugar Cookies
I should say melt in 'my' mouth. These cookies turned out wonderful. I think for the safety of my wasteline I will never make them again.
Here's the recipe ( from Better Homes and Garden's Cookbook)
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup shortening
2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/8 teaspoon salt
3 egg yolks
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
Mix together butter and shortening. Add sugar, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt. Beat until combined. Beat in egg yolks and vanilla. Beat in as much flour as you can and stir in the remaining flour.
Shape dough into 1 inch balls. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in 300 oven for about 15 minutes or until sides are set. Do not let edges brown. Cool on cookie sheet for one minute and transfer to wire rack and let cool. Yields approximately 60 cookies.

Update
I am still ill.
In the past 2.5 days I have gone through 3 rolls of toilet paper (all by myself,) been forced to change nightgowns 3 times, and have eaten a total of 2 pieces of toast, a handful of saltines, and at a last resort for 'real' food -- one grilled cheese. The later of which I am regretting right now.
My tummy is still raw. My husband is still claiming sick too. He's called in to work the past two night and will go to the DR tomorrow for a work excuse. I wonder if I can get an excuse for my days off so I can make them up ??
He has snuck out to the gasstation now. Hopefully he won't get caught by the work-police. He is going after a pint of icecream for himself and two diet sprites for me. Ask yourselves who is really sick.

Sick Day
Last night I cleaned my house. My husband claimed to be sick. About midnight I finally finished and noticed that I was getting really dizzy. So I claimed to be sick. I've run a fever all night long. Finally at 4:30 my temperature was 101.1, I decided to take some Tylenol. Now I'm back up to 99.9 I can't remember the last time I was this sick. I certainly don't remember the last time I had a fever. This weekend when I go to work I will definately be a little bit more sympathetic towards my patients.
